The Neenah Police Department Citizens Academy is a free, 8-week program that offers behind the scenes experience on law enforcement through interactive topics, presentations and hands-on activities.

Classes are once a week (along with Graduation and an optional Saturday morning class) from 6:30-9:00 p.m. and limited to 15 participants who are selected by the Command Staff through an application process.

Program Objectives

Build Relationships

To create and develop effective police and community partnerships and give citizens the opportunity to ask questions.

Educate

To educate citizens on the procedures, responsibilities, guidelines, policies and laws that guide police decision making.

Increase Communication

To encourage increased communication and interaction between Neenah Police officers and the City of Neenah community.

Requirements

  • Age 18 or older
  • Live or work in the City of Neenah
  • Have no felony convictions, outstanding warrants or pending criminal cases
  • No misdemeanor or OWI arrests within the last three years prior to application date
  • Pass background check
  • Sign liability waiver
